The TIDA of NZ Travel Scholarship Award

Age group:

Dancers between the ages of 10 and 17 yrs (Under 11 Girls and Boys up to Under 17 Ladies and Men)

Selection:

Every dancer in the approved age groups (Under 11 Girls and Boys up to Under 17 Ladies and Men) are eligible for this Award this year, except that no dancer can win the Award more than twice, not necessarily in succession.

The International Judges officiating at the NZ Irish Dancing Championships will select the Scholarship winner, and they are the sole Judges of this Award.

Dancers are not required to nominate before dancing whether they are able to travel.

The award must be taken up in the year following the Award. In the event that the winner does not travel, within the year specified, the Award cannot be claimed.

This Award is to be made each year strictly on merit to the best eligible dancer in the opinion of the International Judges, and the winner must participate in the next World Dancing Championships organised under the auspices of An Coimisiun Le Rinci Gaelacha.

The recipient receives a credit of up to $2000 for the cost of return air travel  to participate in the forthcoming World Championships, All Irelands or North American Nationals.
